DESCRIPTION:In recent years\, the critique of 'globalists' has become a pa
rt of politicians’ repertoire both on the left and the right. This talk
inquires the theoretical foundations for this critique and explains the ch
anged attitudes towards 'the global'. Referring to these recent critiques
of ‘globalism’\, the talk situates different understandings of globali
ty and how they shape ethical considerations. It traces the changing imagi
naries of globality during the last decades and how they have been influen
cing the perceptions about ‘our’ responsibility towards ‘others’ i
n surprising ways.\n\nThe event will start with a lecture and then commenc
e as an open discussion. The lecture will be delivered by Felix Anderl. Fe
lix is a postdoctoral research associate at CRASSH where he works on the A
