 nd autism*\n*Tuesday 5 November 5pm to 8pm*\n\n*About this Event*\n\nOur i
 nclusive and accessible event will highlight new research that investigate
 s the role of play\, games and friendships for autistic people\n\n*Event i
 nformation*\n\nThe PEDAL Social Play\, Social Lives research strand\, led 
 by Dr Jenny Gibson\, has an established programme of research exploring wa
 ys in which play supports the development of social\, emotional and commun
 ication skills and helps people to build positive social relationships.\n\
 nThe team is embarking on new research investigating the role of play\, ga
 mes (board games\, gaming\, cosplay etc) and friendships for autistic peop
 le specifically. We invite you to join us in exploring questions such as:\
 n\n* What is the role of digital technologies in empowering autistic indiv
 iduals?\n* What are the benefits of using play as therapy? Are there any p
 otential drawbacks?\n* Can (or should) we reframe the predominately negati
 ve narrative about video games and other forms of digital play?\n\nPEDAL S
 ocial Play\; Social Lives is delighted to be working with Autistica to mak
 e this an inclusive and accessible event.\n\n*Event schedule and guest spe
 akers*\n\nThe event is structured is as follows with details TBC:\n\nEvent
  timings = 5pm start – 8pm end. There will be talks (2 hours including b

 s and aims to inform wider practice and policy. We are a multi-disciplinar
 y team of experts in psychology\, education and child development. PEDAL i
 s located in the University of Cambridge’s Faculty of Education\, and wa
 s launched in October 2015 with funding from the LEGO Foundation. PEDAL is
