DESCRIPTION:In this talk\, I will give a brief overview of decomposable Sp
 echt\nmodules for the symmetric group and its Hecke algebra deformation\, 
 including\na recent result with Bessenrodt and Bowman.\nI will then cover 
 joint work with Liron Speyer on the decomposability of\nSpecht modules ind
 exed by bihooks for the Hecke algebra of type B from the\nperspective of t
 he cyclotomic KLR algebra. Finally\, if time permits\, I will\nclose with 
 our currrent work on determining which of these decomposable\nSpecht modul
 es are semisimple.
