SUMMARY:Cosmology with photometric redshift surveys: challenges and opport
 unities - David Alonso

DESCRIPTION:The ongoing and upcoming photometric galaxy surveys are a cent
ral piece in our strategy to improve our understanding of cosmology. In pa
rticular\, the combination of galaxy clustering and weak gravitational len
sing is a powerful tool to simultaneously constrain the geometry of the Un
iverse\, as well as the growth of large-scale structures within it. In thi
s talk I will first review the main stages in the analysis of photometric
large-scale structure data\, with a particular emphasis on the problems of
data compression and covariance estimation. I will also present the first
results from the analysis of photometric galaxy clustering data from the
Hyper Suprime-Cam survey carried out within the LSST Dark Energy Science C
 ollaboration.
