 our weekly talks.\n\nAlgebraic geometry occupies a central place in modern
  mathematics. It has deep connections with various parts of mathematics. I
 t is also deeply related to mathematical physics and has found application
 s in a wide range of topics. In this talk I will introduce some basics of 
 algebraic geometry and then discuss some applications.
