SUMMARY:The Wiener-Hopf technique for a submerged elastic plate - Dr Mike
 Smith (University of Cambridge)

DESCRIPTION:In this talk I will present a Wiener-Hopf solution to the wave
-structure interaction problem comprising a semi-infinite elastic plate th
at is submerged within a linear fluid domain. This solution provides a num
erically efficient tool for examining offshore breakwater and wave barrier
designs. In the literature\, considerable effort has been directed toward
s rigid acoustic structures\, whereas bending structures have received com
 paratively less attention.
