DESCRIPTION:In joint work with Karl Lorensen and Dawid Kielak\, we study a
 n old question of Reinhold Baer:\nwhich are the groups such that the integ
 ral group ring is Noetherian. We shall see\nthat as well satisfying the ma
 ximal condition on subgroups (which Baer knew)\, they\nalso must be amenab
 le. This then connects the question to some interesting\nBurnside groups c
 onstructed by Ivanov and Olshanskii.\n
