DESCRIPTION:A major challenge is to develop machine learning algorithms th
at can learn complex information\, something animals do easily. To address
this\, we measured the activity of neurons and dendrites while rats learn
ed a complex navigation task in virtual reality\, and during the subsequen
t period of sleep. The results point to novel neural algorithms underlying
learning complex information. Some of the background information can be f
ound in my TEDx talk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4Ey8JzTDBo
