DESCRIPTION:NEW VENUE!\n\nWe are delighted to announce Diane Coyle as the 
 second speaker of this term. She is a Professor at the Department of Polit
 ics and International Studies (University of Cambridge) and co-directs the
  Bennett Institute for Public Policy.\n\nAs always: Our seminars are free 
 and open to all\, and no booking is required. Snacks and drinks will be pr
 ovided. Meet us in 17 Mill Lane\, Room B at 5 pm.\n\nABSTRACT\nIn this ses
 sion\, Coyle will present her past and present findings on the political\,
  economic and social dimensions of the digital economy. Afterwards\, we wi
 ll have a discussion and she is eager to hear about what students and rese
 archers at other departments (e.g. Sociology) are working on.\n\nBIO\nProf
 essor Coyle is one of the leading scholars worldwide in her research on th
 e new digital markets that have emerged. She has also held a number of pub
 lic service roles including Vice Chair of the BBC Trust (2006-2014)\, memb
 er of the Competition Commission (2001-2009)\, the Migration Advisory Comm
 ittee (2009-2014)\, and the Natural Capital Committee (2016-2019). She was
  awarded a CBE for her contribution to the public understanding of economi
 cs in the 2018 New Year Honours.
