DESCRIPTION:Students for Global Health Cambridge and Cambridge University 
 One Health Society have teamed together for Antimicrobial Resistance Aware
 ness Week to bring you a panel of experts to discuss the topic of Antimicr
 obial Resistance on Wednesday 20th November. This is the resistance of bac
 teria\, viruses\, parasites and fungi to the drugs normally used to treat 
 them. Join us for a discussion of questions regarding the impact of antimi
 crobial resistance\, strategies for combating resistance and what we as in
 dividuals can be doing. \n\nThe Panelists:\nProfessor Julian Parkhill- Hea
 d of Infection Genomics at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and uses ge
 nomic approaches to understand the evolution of pathogenic bacteria on sho
 rt and long timescales\, including the evolution of antibiotic resistance\
 nDr Nicholas Brown - Consultant Medical Microbiologist. Former President o
 f the British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (BSAC) from 2012-2015
  and current BSAC Director of Public and Professional Engagement. \nDr Sol
 ange Alves- A medical doctor with an interdisciplinary background includin
 g a veterinary degree and a master of public health. Since 2017 she has be
 en a WHO consultant advisor for one health approach projects on health sec
 urity including AMR\n\nAccess: The Divinity School has ramped access and t
 he Lightfoot Room can be accessed via lift\, therefore there is step-free 
 access to the venue.
