DESCRIPTION:In this talk we consider the stabilisability of dynamical syst
 ems via time-delayed state and output feedback control. Based on an eigenv
 alue optimisation approach in combination with a continuation argument\nan
 d a result characterising properties of the optimum eigenvalue configurati
 ons\, we obtain explicit expressions for stabilisability boundaries for tw
 o-dimensional systems. As time-delayed feedback can be used to approximate
  derivative feedback\, we also give a comparison of the stabilisability vi
 a both types of feedback.
