DESCRIPTION:Centre for Mathematics Sciences\nRoom: MR21\n3 December 2019\n
2:00pm to 3:15pm\n\nwww.zero.cam.ac.uk\n\nThe University of Cambridge is b
uilding on its existing research and launching an ambitious new climate ch
ange initiative.\n\nCambridge Zero\, led by Dr Emily Shuckburgh\, will har
ness the full breadth of the University’s research capabilities – from
the sciences\, engineering\, humanities and social sciences – and polic
y expertise\, to respond to climate change and support the transition to a
sustainable zero-carbon future\, both in the UK and globally.\n\nThis ini
tiative is not just about developing greener energy\, technologies and mat
erials. It’s about addressing every aspect of a zero carbon future: the
impact it will have on our lives\, our work\, our society and our economy\
, and ensuring decisions are based on the best available knowledge. By enh
ancing the University’s existing networks of external engagement and col
laboration\, and actively seeking new partners\, it will create a platform
  for change.\nThrough a bold programme of education\, research\, demonstra
tion projects and knowledge exchange focused on supporting a zero-carbon w
orld\, the ambition is to generate and disseminate the ideas and innovatio
ns that will shape our future – and to equip a new generation of leaders
with the skills to navigate the global challenges of the coming decades.\
n\nWe are holding a joint CCfCS/Cambridge Zero workshop aimed at students
so you can learn about both initiatives and contribute your ideas.\n\nSign
