DESCRIPTION:A fundamental problem in the context of Einstein’s equations
  of general relativity is to understand the dynamical evolution of small i
 nitial data perturbations of known Einstein spacetimes. In this talk I wil
 l discuss the stability under the vacuum Einstein equations of the Cartesi
 an product of high-dimensional Minkowski space with a compact\, Ricci-flat
  Riemannian manifold admitting nonzero parallel spinors.\nSuch a product i
 ncludes special holonomy compactifications\, which play a central role in 
 string theory and supergravity.
