 galaxies at z~1.5 - Emanuele Daddi\, CEA\, Saclay\, Paris

DESCRIPTION:Molecular gas is the key ingredient for star formation. We hav
 e \nrecently demonstrated through CO observations that typical\, near-IR
\nselected galaxies at z~1.5 host giant reservoir of molecular gas\, \ni
mplying star formation efficiencies similar to those of local \nspirals\,
and are enough luminous in CO to be detected with the \ncurrent instrume
ntation. I'll present the results of our ongoing \nsurveys with the PdBI
and VLA interferometers\, including the \nobservations of a larger sample
\, the determination of the gas spatial scales\, the search for cold and w
arm gas components. I'll discuss implications for the nature of star forma
tion in massive high-z galaxies\, and for the future surveys with ALMA and
  EVLA.\n\n
