DESCRIPTION:In this talk we will discuss effective field theories of self-
interacting massive spinning fields and derive the largest scale at which
perturbative unitarity breaks down when allowing for order one tunings in
the potential. This scale is a function of the field’s mass and spin and
complements similar expressions in the literature for couplings of massiv
e higher spins to photons and gravitons.\n\nWe show how the strong couplin
g scale can be increased when Wess-Zumino structures exist for the non-lin
early realised symmetries of the spinning field’s longitudinal mode (whi
ch is spin-0 for massive bosons and spin-1/2 for massive fermions). We wil
l provide results for any spin but concentrate on the illustrative cases o
 f spins 1\,3/2 and 2.
