DESCRIPTION:In the Standard Model (SM)\, decays that don’t conserve lept
on family number\, for example B->eµ\, are forbidden\, however\, many ext
ensions of the SM predict sizeable lepton flavour violation (LFV). Hence\,
the discovery of LFV would be an unambiguous sign of new physics. Another
cornerstone prediction of the SM is that the different lepton families co
uple universally to the gauge bosons. Interest in LFV searches has been re
newed recently due to a series of tensions in tests of lepton flavour univ
ersality (LFU). In general\, if LFU is violated\, LFV is expected too. Rec
ent searches for LFV in B decays at LHCb will be presented.
