DESCRIPTION:The concept of an interacting UV fixed point\, known as asympt
otic safety\, is of high interest per se. In particle physics it opens up
avenues for model building beyond the paradigm of asymptotic freedom. In g
ravity\, it offers the prospect to understand the quantum nature of space-
time within a quantum field theory setting.\n\nIn this talk\, I discuss th
e state-of-the-art for asymptotic safety in particle\nphysics coveringrigo
 rous results\, strict no-go theorems\, examples with \nor w/o supersymmetr
y\, and links with conformal field theory. As an \nexample\, I show why an
d how asymptotically safe extensions of the Standard Model offer a natura
l explanation for present (g-2) anomalies. Further implications for partic
le physics and quantum gravity are also indicated.
