DESCRIPTION:A sequence (G_n) of groups is said to have homological\nstabil
 ity if H_i(G_n) becomes independent of n\, provided n is large enough (as 
 a function of i). Homological stability is a very common phenomenon\, and 
 in this talk I will discuss some of the techniques that one can use to pro
 ve such stability results\, as well as some examples.\n
