DESCRIPTION:I will discuss recent developments in the study of the behavio
 r of the Riemann zeta function in the vicinity of a random point on the cr
 itical line. In particular\, I will discuss connections to the theory of l
 ogarithmically correlated fields and multiplicative chaos. The talk is par
