DESCRIPTION:A theorem of Weyl tells us that the Lorentz (and parity) invar
iant polynomials in the momenta of n particles are generated by the dot pr
oducts. We extend this result to include the action of an arbitrary permut
ation group P ⊂ Sn on the particles\, to take account of the quantum-fie
ld-theoretic fact that particles can be indistinguishable. Doing so provid
es a convenient set of variables for describing scattering processes invol
ving identical particles\, such as pp → jjj\, for which we provide an ex
plicit set of Lorentz and permutation\ninvariant generators. We also addre
ss the issues of redundancies among the generators\, such as those that ar
ise when n exceeds the spacetime dimension.
