 .\n\nWe are pleased to invite you to join discussions with a panel of expe
 rts from the world of public service who will provide experience\, experti
 se and specific advice on working in government\, policy and the third sec
 tor.\n\nWithin academia\, many of us are striving to address some of the w
 orld’s most pressing problems by influencing policy-making at various le
 vels\, in diverse subjects\, and from different platforms\, in the UK and 
 internationally – this is for you.\n\nJoin us for welcome drinks at 6.00
 pm. The panel discussion starts at 6.30pm.\n\nThis unique event will be ch
 aired by Jane Ramsey (Committee on Standards in Public Life\, Chair of You
 ng Epilepsy\, non-executive portfolio and former barrister).\n\nThe panel 
 includes:\n\nDr Mark Bale (Deputy Director of Health Science & Bioethics a
 t the Department of Health)\n\nAnn Cotton OBE (Founder and Trustee\, CAMFE
 D International)\n\nCatherine Mealing-Jones (Director\, Growth\, UK Space 
 Agency)\n\nDr Alexander Randall (Ministry of Defence)\n\nThrough the Bridg
 e\, Hughes Hall supports all its researchers in making the world a better 
 place by achieving impact through their research. Researchers can take man
 y paths to impact\, through different careers and professions\, academic o
 r otherwise. This series of events brings together veteran and young profe
 ssionals from many walks of life to share their own journeys and experienc
 es of how to make change. The audiences will gain insights into the opport
 unities\, challenges and realities in making a difference\, and will benef
