DESCRIPTION:This talk will describe ultrashort pulse laser machining\, whi
 ch offers multi-functional 3D fabrication inside transparent materials and
  promises to be a disruptive manufacturing method for a range of future te
 chnologies. In particular\, the talk will focus on the use of adaptive opt
 ics in the laser processing to enhance resolution\, efficiency and through
 put. An example application will be presented\, namely laser fabrication i
 n the bulk of synthetic diamond for the creation of embedded electrical wi
 res\, optical waveguides and defects for quantum technology.
