a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting (inc
luding iCal) from Zoom.\n\nPlease use your institutional email address for
registration (if possible) and complete your registration at least 30 min
utes prior to the seminar so that you will receive the confirmation email/
access link before the seminar. Your registration will be manually checked
and approved.\n\nGenetics teaches us that for highly-dimensional omic tec
hnologies sample size is key\, and that necessary sample sizes can best be
archived via meta-analyses. This poses a challenge for metabolomics due t
o its relative nature of measurement\, the lack of a standardized metaboli
te nomenclature and differences in metabolome coverage between platforms.
The Consortium Of METabolomics Studies (COMETS)\; has developed a novel wo
rkflow to deal with these issues for the first time. I will discuss our ex
periences with COMETS and how we have leveraged these developments to cond
uct largest and most comprehensive metabolomics of BMI study to date\, inc
luding >100\,000 adults from 43 cohorts worldwide.
