DESCRIPTION:I will show in my talk how\, for groups lying in the hierarchy
  first introduced by Peter Kropholler in the nineties\, one can generate t
 he derived bounded category of chain complexes as the smallest full triang
 ulated subcategory of it containing a certain class of objects. I will pro
 ve similar results for derived unbounded categories\, derived bounded abov
 e and derived bounded below categories and show how these results relate t
 o generation results in the general module category. All of this is part o
 f work done during my PhD.
