:\n\nThe rational approach taken during this series of ‘Climate and Cons
ciousness’ events makes it accessible to everyone. We will emphasise the
subject of attachments and how these unquestioned attachments are the rea
l cause of our suffering. With this in mind\, the meditation practices are
aimed at attaining internal freedom.\n\nThe events promotes a spiritual h
igh ground\, whilst making it easy and practical for the novice to learn t
he steps to start the process. These are necessary tools to deal with the
ups and downs on this rollercoaster of life.\n\nKeynote Speaker: Chloe Gre
enwood\n\nChloe Greenwood is a medical doctor who worked in General Practi
ce\, Psychiatry and Psychotherapy for 28 years. She worked at the Human Ri
ghts charity ‘Freedom from Torture’\, as Head of Doctors. Chloe is an
Interfaith Minister\, Spiritual intelligence coach\, and an advocate of De
ep Adaptation\, a model to help us to navigate these difficult times for t
he Earth and humanity. \n\nDeep Adaptation is an approach founded by Jem B
endell\, Professor of Sustainability at Lancaster University. His research
paper\, published in July of 2018\, concluded “Recent research suggests
that human societies will experience disruptions to their basic functioni
ng within less than ten years due to climate stress. A new approach which
explores how to reduce harm and not make matters worse is important to dev
elop.” The essence of his Deep Adaptation Agenda is to explore what we c
an do differently\, given a new- found awareness of more recently availabl
e information on climate change and its implications. It expands the mains
tream environmental movement’s focus on mitigation (e.g. lowering CO2 em
issions) to considering how we can adapt to a coming climate tragedy.\n\nK
