DESCRIPTION:In our quest for the perfect picture\, it is crucial to captur
 e light\ninformation that will allow us to mimic our ability to perceive t
 he\nworld around us. While conventional visual capturing technologies are\
 nunable to fully acquire this information\, light field technology\nbrings
  us a step closer to imitating human perception. In this talk\,\nwe will r
 eview what is behind the emergence of light field technology\nand discuss 
 the challenges and research opportunities this evolution\noffers and how i
 t can drastically affect domains that depend heavily\non visual acquisitio
 n technologies\, such as entertainment/education &\ntraining\, autonomous 
 driving\, Augmented Reality (AR) & gaming\,\neducation/training\, digital 
 health and wellness.
