DESCRIPTION:It is well understood that in quantum fluidic systems\, rotati
 onal flows are restricted to quantized vortex singularities. However\, des
 pite being predicted to have extraordinary scientific and technological po
 tential\, due to dynamical instabilities\, quantized vortices of higher-th
 an-unit topological charge have remained elusive. Here\, I show that the s
 teady-state fluxes inherent to nonconservative quantum fluids allow for th
 e spontaneous formation of stable quantum vortices of high topological cha
 rge.
