DESCRIPTION:We have recently moved our pathogen dynamics group from Instit
ut Pasteur to the Department of Genetics at the University of Cambridge. I
n our group\, we work on projects that bring together different data types
to understand the spread\, maintenance and control of infectious pathogen
s to answer applied public health questions. In particular\, we work with
pathogen genomes\, serological data as well as detailed information on how
we\, as humans\, behave and interact with each other as transmitters of p
athogens. I will present two projects that highlight some of the work we a
re doing in the group. One project will explore how we can use the results
of age-specific death data to make inferences on underlying fatality and
attack rates for SARS-CoV-2 across locations. In the second project\, I wi
ll demonstrate how we can reconstruct antibody titers from dengue vaccine
trials to identify correlates of infection and disease.
