SUMMARY:Unitarity bounds for inflation - Scott Melville (University of Cam
 bridge)

DESCRIPTION:Unitarity is a crucial tool in particle physics: for instance
requiring physically sensible scattering probabilities provided a bound on
the Higgs mass long before it was directly detected. In this talk\, I wil
l discuss how unitarity can be similarly applied to field theories of infl
ation\, and show how measurements of primordial non-Gaussianity can be use
d to bound properties of the new physics on sub-horizon scales.
