 44 054\n\nIn recent years the process tracing method has become increasing
 ly popular in case studies as well as in political science and political e
 conomy methodological debates. It is a method for studying causal mechanis
 ms linking causes with outcomes. This enables the researcher to make stron
 g inferences about how a cause (or set of causes) contributes to producing
  an outcome. \n\nProfessor Beach will provide an introduction to using thi
 s method and explain why it is fast becoming a popular tool to study compl
 ex phenomenon such as policy processes.
