DESCRIPTION:Precision Higgs boson measurements at future e+e- colliders ca
ll for excellent hadronic resolution to be able to resolve different Higgs
boson decay channels. Dual readout calorimetry exploits Cherenkov light e
mitted by electrons in hadronic showers to mitigate event-by-event energy
measurement fluctuations. The result is a concept for a calorimeter that p
rovides excellent native resolution to both EM and hadronic energy deposit
 s. In this seminar I will review the main principles behind this technolog
y\, and conclude with the pathway to move from the R&D phase to prototypin
 g and construction.
