DESCRIPTION:Snowlines\, or condensation fronts\, regulate the elemental an
d molecular gas and solid abundances across planet forming disks. I will r
eview what we know about snowline locations based on theory and observatio
ns of disks\, and what they can teach us about the formation sites of plan
ets in our own Solar System\, especially Jupiter\, which we propose formed
in the outer parts of the Solar System. I will discuss the likelihood of
exo-Jupiters beginning their existence at similarly large distances from t
heir host stars\, and what observations are needed to test different forma
 tion models.\n
