DESCRIPTION:Pseudo Nambu Goldstone bosons or axionlike particles (ALPs) ca
n be light remnants of a heavy new physics sector. The UV structure of thi
s sector determines the coupling structure of the ALPs. Light ALPs are str
ongly constrained from beam-dump searches and astrophysical observables an
d for ALPs with masses close to the electroweak scale can be discovered wi
th resonance searches. I will discuss different techniques to discover ALP
s in the intermediate mass range with a special focus on long-lived ALPs.
A particularly interesting model are ALPs with an additional Z2 symmetry t
hat can be a Dark Matter candidate even for sizable couplings. In this con
text I will present a new strategy to discover this type of Dark Matter at
  the LHC.
