DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce a webinar in which Professor John E
 lliott will talk about his life as a researcher and reformer\, and then in
 troduce us to eight ‘good reads’ - educational works that have influen
 ced his work and thinking.\n\nJohn is Emeritus Professor of Education and 
 Lifelong Learning at the Centre for Action Research in Education at the Un
 iversity of East Anglia which he founded. He is well-known internationally
  for his role in developing the theory and practice of educational action 
 research in the contexts of curriculum and teacher development\, and has d
 irected a number of funded collaborative classroom research projects with 
 teachers and schools.\n\nBefore John joined East Anglia\, he was a lecture
 r at the University of Cambridge and a fellow at Hughes Hall.\n\nA mentee 
 of Lawrence Stenhouse\, an international leader in action research for man
 y years\, a strong supporter of teachers as researchers\, and this century
  an international leader of ‘Lesson Studies’\, John has crammed his ha
 lf century career jam packed with quality research and influential practic
 e that has changed the lives and careers\nof many practitioners. He also f
 ounded and edited in chief the International Journal of Action Research an
 d the International Journal of Lesson and Learning Studies. Both are still
  going strong.\n\nWe invite you to join us in this webinar which will prov
 ide an inspirational reading list\, and an opportunity to hear a distingui
 shed colleague reflect on his career in education.
