DESCRIPTION:Effective designation of Protected Areas requires the careful 
 consideration of their social impacts. These refer to a variety of issues 
 such as the distribution of power\, social equity\, social relations and m
 ore importantly the impact of Protected Areas on people’s wellbeing. In 
 this talk\, Dr Jones will analyse the different types of social impacts th
 at have been recorded by academic studies in European Protected Areas\, th
 e region with the largest in proportion number of protected spaces across 
 the world. She will also discuss how COVID-19 is shifting the way protecte
 d areas are managed in the region and more importantly how the coronavirus
  crisis is expected to change the relationship between protected areas\, v
