DESCRIPTION:In this short talk we review current methods used by engineers
to program AI in order to make judgments on whether a course of action is
fair. A clear challenge of defining fairness becomes apparent. To this en
d\, a golden rule & Socratic theory of motivation behind actions\, is prop
osed as a way forward in the design of a new algorithm. \n\nIts use in the
quantification of legal documents will be touched upon.\n\n(No prior know
ledge of programming or AI is required).\n \nThis research supported thro
ugh an NGI Trust Award - EC Horizon 2020.
LOCATION:Please email the organiser (ai297@cam.ac.uk) for a link and passw
ord to the talk. Thank you.
