DESCRIPTION:The objective of the Cambridge Disaster Research Network is to
  connect hazard and disaster research and researchers across disciplines\,
  and to link academic approaches to the needs and experience of practition
 ers. This session will introduce the network and its motivations\, and exp
 lore the need for multi-disciplinary approaches to understanding and preve
 nting disasters. The session will also provide the audience with an opport
 unity to discuss what they would like to get out of the network and topics
