DESCRIPTION:A variety of environmental stressors and infections cause glob
al transcriptional downregulation in human cells\, a phenomenon we termed
as Stress-Induced Transcriptional Attenuation (SITA). In the talk\, I will
discuss our work on understanding the mechanism underlying SITA that has
led us to uncover novel nuclear condensates formed by liquid-liquid phase
separation. Similar transcriptional downregulation is also seen in lung ce
 lls upon SARS-CoV-2 infection\, identifying therapeutic avenues.\n\nPlease
