DESCRIPTION:All mathematicians will\, eventually\, form some part of the w
orkforce.\nThe abstract nature of mathematics may lead us to believe that
our role\nis 'special'\, and that we won't need to worry about the usual w
orkplace\ninteractions\, issues\, conflicts and dangers that may arise in
other\nprofessions. This is simply not true. We face the same issues\, and
need\nto know how to deal with them. Our focused and dedicated nature mea
ns\nthat we may easily overlook instances of others trying to exploit or\n
manipulate us at work\, resulting in harm to ourselves\, and our work\nbec
oming harmful to wider society. We need to know how to identify such\npeop
le and situations\, and to protect ourselves against them.\n\nFor more inf
ormation about this series of discussions\, please see https://cueims.soc.
