DESCRIPTION:Air pollution is a major problem worldwide. The MAGIC (Managin
g Air for Greener Inner Cities) project conducted a two-week field study i
n London including 30 sensors\, 10 Raspberry Pi cameras and several weathe
r monitoring instruments to understand the effect traffic light signal tim
e changes can have on air pollution measured at a junction in South London
. \n\nApart from analysing the sensor data\, MAGIC is also trying to mode
l the vehicle emissions and their dispersion observed during the study usi
ng Computer Vision to extract vehicle trajectories from the camera footage
s and Fluidity\, a computational fluid dynamics model\, to understand the
dispersion of the modelled tailpipe emissions. \n\nIn this talk I will giv
e an overview of the field study\, provide an introduction to the modellin
g done and present some initial results.\n\n"Zoom link":https://us02web.zo
