DESCRIPTION:GR is bound to fail under some circumstances due to its incomp
atibility with quantum mechanics. In\nthis talk two examples of possible f
ailures of GR that may be confirmed in the very near future are\ndescribed
. The first example relates to the fact that GR cannot provide an exact de
scription of any\nrotating object. In the case of a rotating compact objec
t GR may not be even qualitatively correct.\nIn particular\, we will argue
that in reality rotating compact objects have a Godel-like vortex\ncore.
The prediction is that the highly collimated jets seen emerging from AGN o
riginate from\ninside the compact object. The second example relates to th
e fact that GR must fail as one\napproaches an event horizon. As a consequ
ence cosmic rays hitting the surface of a compact object\nwill produce a g
amma ray spectrum with a dip below 70 MeV. In the case of the compact obje
ct\nlocated at Sg A* it may be possible to see this spectral anomaly with
 GLAST.
