DESCRIPTION:As large baseline atom interferometers are being constructed a
nd planned\, such as MAGIS-100 (Matter-wave Atomic Gradiometer Interferome
tric Sensor) and AION (Atom Interferometry Observatory Network)\, consider
ations of the experimental systematics and their mitigation are important
for guiding design and development of the detectors to ensure optimal meas
urement sensitivity. The transition from tightly controlled lab spaces to
mining shafts\, as well as extending the baseline length\, alter leading o
rder systematics. For example: Coriolis accelerations\, laser wavefront pe
rturbations\, and crucially for terrestrial detectors\, gravity gradient n
oise. Current analysis and future outlook for these effects will be presen
 ted.
