DESCRIPTION:Agent-based modeling (ABM) has been around since the 1970s. Ho
 wever\, it has recently grown in popularity because of increased compute p
 ower. In this talk\, Kazil will give an overview of ABMs\, their applicati
 ons\, and tooling. She will give an overview of available tools and breakd
 own the shared concepts that agent-based modeling tools have specifically 
 by walking through the tool that she has written called Mesa.  Mesa is an 
 agent-based modeling framework written in Python. Originally started in 20
 13\, it was created to be the go-to tool for researchers wishing to build 
 agent-based models with Python.
