DESCRIPTION:Gravitational waves (GWs) are novel signals that probe the beh
avior of gravity in both the strong and weak-field regimes. \nAs these wav
es propagate towards us over cosmological distance\, they are sensitive to
the presence of inhomogeneities in the Universe. \nSimilarly to light\, G
Ws can be lensed by intervening galaxies or clusters of galaxies\, \nand l
ead to multiple magnified and delayed images from the same source. One imp
ortant difference with light though is that the detection of \nGWs is sens
itive to the phase of the wave\, which can change from emission to detecti
on due to strong lensing. \nIn this talk I will explain what this change o
f phase is\, how it can affect future observations\, \nand how it can be u
sed as a unique effect that will help identify GW lensed events. \n
