DESCRIPTION:In this talk I will sketch how we can test large-scale gravity
with unprecedented precision by combining new gravitational wave measurem
ents\, observational bounds from cosmology\, and novel particle theory ins
pired insights\, in particular allowing us to zoom in on the nature of dar
k energy. In doing so\, I will highlight the interplay between gravitation
al wave constraints on cosmological gravity post-GW170817\, data constrain
ts from cosmic microwave background and galaxy clustering measurements\, a
nd novel theoretical priors on theories of dark energy (ranging from purel
y classical stability requirements to radiative stability- and positivity-
 related priors).
