DESCRIPTION:Weak topological insulators are phases where topology depends
on translational symmetry\nand surface states only appear along some direc
tion\, usually orthogonal to cleaving planes.\nThis makes it in general ha
rd to see surface states directly. We present triclinic RhBi2 in [1]\,\na
system with only bulk inversion symmetry\, as a natural platform to study
weak\ntopology as the surface states live on the cleaving planes. These su
rface states\nare studied using APRES\, DFT and an effective model\, from
which we find that in addition\nto topology\, the system also displays a v
an Hove singularity close to the Fermi energy.\nThis combination of effect
s makes the material a very promising platform to study\nnovel quantum eff
ects.\n\n\n[1] Discovery of a weak topological insulating state and van Ho
