 rtnership Programme since 2003. This longstanding and mutually beneficial 
 partnership is celebrated annually at the BT-Pembroke Lecture.\n\n*BT Pemb
 roke lecture 2020: Black swan or new normal? The changing face of managing
  during COVID-19*\n\nThe COVID-19 pandemic has had huge implications for u
 s all. How should companies respond to a pandemic and what does that respo
 nse mean for their employees? Dr Richard Caddis will explain the role of a
  chief medical officer in a large corporation and how BT has responded to 
 the pandemic. He’ll delve into the role of companies in ensuring their e
 mployees’ health\, safety & wellbeing\, and will explore what this and p
 ast pandemics can tell us about pandemics in the future.\n\n*Dr Richard Ca
 ddis\, Director of Health\, Safety & Wellbeing\, & Chief Medical Officer\,
  BT*\n\nRichard was appointed Director of Health & Wellbeing & Chief Medic
 al Officer for BT in 2018. He’s responsible for the development\, strate
 gy and implementation and culture change\, and leads a team delivering the
  group occupational health service (OHS) provision\, safety management and
  assurance programmes for BT Group’s UK and global operations.\n\nRichar
 d has worked on global outbreaks (Ebola\, Zika\, Swine Flu) and is current
 ly leading the pandemic response to COVID-19. He has a vast range of exper
 ience from working at British Airways\, Transport for London\, Cathay Paci
 fic and Capita. He won the Peter Taylor medal for his research into the im
 pact of the London 7/7 bombings on Transport for London (TFL) station staf
 f. During his time with British Airways he supported major incident manage
 ment and the implementation of industry changing controls following the Ge
 rman Wings incident\, ensuring the flying community had peer support indep
 endent to the employer.\n\nRichard grew up in Ayr\, Scotland and read Medi
 cine at Aberdeen. He sits on the National Forum for Health and Wellbeing a
