 es/s41467-020-19723-8\n\nThe Huckins' Lab -\nOur over-arching goal is to d
evelop and apply complex statistical algorithms to probe the genetic\, epi
genetic\, and higher-level multi-omic basis of understudied psychiatric di
sorders and trajectories. \n\nWe focus on historically under-studied and
vulnerable populations\, with an emphasis anorexia nervosa (AN) and post-t
raumatic stress disorder (PTSD) following interpersonal violence and sexua
l assault. \n\nThe purpose of our research is ultimately to help underst
and psychiatric disorders. We hope that our results will lead to a deeper
understanding of neurobiology\; better treatments and medications\; more e
ffective\, appropriate and timely interventions\; and a relief of the sham
e\, blame\, guilt and fear surrounding poorly understood diagnoses. \n\n
We will achieve these goals by asking thoughtful\, nuanced questions. We w
ill answer these questions by designing and applying statistical algorithm
 s. These algorithms will encoporate multi-layered data\, tying together va
 riation in the genome\, transcriptome\, epigenome\, microbiome\, and popul
 ation phenome.\n
