DESCRIPTION:Structural\noptimisation has many\nindustrial applications in 
 civil\,\nmechanical and aerospace\nengineering Gradient based method is\ns
 uitable for most of the practical\nproblems with differentiable objective\
 nfunctions However\, there are structural\nproblems where the derivatives 
 of\nobjective functions are expensive to\ncompute or even not available Fo
 r\nexample\, problems with nonlinearities\nand imperfections are often cha
 llenging\nto use gradient based method\nBayesian optimisation is commonly\
 nused non gradient method for problems\nwith objective functions that are\
 nexpensive to evaluate It can reach a\nreasonably accurate optimal result 
 with\nlimited number of evaluations This\nproject aims to explore the appl
 ications\nof Bayesian optimisation techniques to\noptimise\nnonlinear and 
 imperfection\nsensitive structures
