DESCRIPTION:An accurate measurement of the top mass and of the kinematic\n
distributions of EW gauge bosons is a crucial part of the LHC physics\npro
gram. The former is affected by non-perturbative corrections\, also\nknown
as renormalons. Their impact is of the order of a typical\nhadronic scale
$\\Lambda$. If such corrections would be present also in\nthe transverse-
momentum distribution of the $Z$ boson\, they would be\ncomparable to the
current theoretical uncertainty and potentially\nlarger than the experimen
tal one. In this talk I present a method that\ncan be used to infer the pr
esence of such renormalon corrections. We\napply it to the case of single-
top production to assess whether the\nmass renormalon propagates on top-ma
ss dependent observables. We also\ninvestigate $Z$+jet production at hadro
n colliders\, finding no\nnumerical evidence of linear power corrections.
